I purchased this book as my husband and I have a wonderful, Spanish lady who watches our daughter twice a week, but our Spanish is limited. This book does not cover everything, but is a wonderful starting point to words and conversations directly dealing with childcare, items around the house, cleaning, etc.
Today, while I was out doing errands I returned home and our child care provider pointed to the book and said: "Excellente!"
She asked where I purchased it because she would like one.
I'm sorry if some people find it "offensive," but to a lot of people like me and my childcare provider it is a practical means of communication. A lot of the phrases cover uncomfortable situations and I would never use them, but some people might.
This is a good book aimed to childcare providers or housekeepers and their employers. For the negative reviewer, don't take it personally it obviously helps a lot of us as it is in it's fourteenth printing. If you have something better than write a book of your own. |
